Title I School Level Parent & Family Engagement Plan
2025-2026
We at McLaurin Elementary School recognize the essential role parents play in their child’s education. Our goal for this school year is to build and develop a strong partnership between parents and McLaurin Elementary School in order to meet the needs of our students and increase their academic achievement and overall personal success.
McLaurin Elementary School will:
- Host an Annual Meeting to inform parents about our school’s Title I program, participation, and requirements, including the Parental and Family Engagement Plan, the compact, and their right to be involved. (a)
- Invite parents to a school meeting to discuss the Title I Parental Involvement Budget and how those dollars will be spent. (c)
- Establish a Parental Advisory Council that will enable parents to provide input and foster a culture of collaboration between administrators, teachers, and parents. (c)
- Host on Open House to provide parents information about the Mississippi College and Career Readiness, district and state assessments as well as school rules, policies, and grade procedures. (d)
- Conduct a parent meeting to discuss the Parent-School compact, as well as solicit input and suggestions to be included in the compact. (f)
- Utilize the school website, school newsletters, the automated phone messaging system, Mobile Apps, and letters home to communicate with parents.
- Provide materials and host workshops, such as literacy, math, and technology training, to help parents and teachers work together to improve student achievement and foster parental involvement. (g)
- Provide parents with results from state assessments, such as the Mississippi Assessment Program, and subject area assessments in a language in which they can easily understand. (h)
- Convene multiple meetings at flexible time with parents to provide them with opportunities to plan, review, and offer suggestions for improvement in the Parental Involvement Plan, the compact, and various other school Title I programs. (b/d)
- Solicit parents to join our Schoolwide Planning Team
- Offer a flexible schedule for conferences, parent trainings, workshops, and other meetings. (b)
- Provide opportunities for parents to give comments/concerns concerning the Schoolwide Plan through the use of email, comment forms, and annual meetings. (e)
- Provide information about Title I, the school, and student achievement to parents in a language in which they can understand. (f)
- Hold regular Parent-Teacher Organization meetings to strengthen our school’s relationship with the parents and community, as well as build our teachers’ and parents’ capacity for strong parental involvement. (g)
